Seventh Circuit Nominee

I was pleased to learn that the President has nominated Victoria Nourse, a distinguished legal historian at the University of Wisconsin, for a seat on the Seventh Circuit.  Based on my interaction with her at a conference last year and on what I’ve seen of her written work, I think this is an excellent choice.

I got to know Professor Nourse as a student at Emory Law, where she taught Statutory Interpretation and a few other courses. She’s very gifted, and was essential to the success of many of the academic events and conferences we had while I was there. Plus, her experience and background in legal history will bring an interesting perspective to the bench. Bravo to the President; Professor Nourse is an inspired choice.
