  1. I suppose I should start the conversation by noting that, no, I have not read The Federalist at least 1,000 times.

  2. Alas, the length, the style, the tone, among other features, appear to license the inference that this exhibits several of the symptoms of a manic episode. This bears mentioning if only because

    “Clinical experience suggests that manic patients often lack insight and fail to recognize their symptoms. Their poor recognition of the behavioral manifestations of their illness and the need for treatment are commonly associated with noncompliance and poor outcome. This lack of insight may be one of the most insidious symptoms of mania.”

    One imagines this poor soul subsequently lashed to a bout with depression.
