Law Clerk Hiring: A Former Judge’s Perspective

Over at the Volokh Conspiracy, former U.S. District Judge Paul Cassell writes about what judges look for when hiring law clerks:

Judges are basically hiring law clerks to do one thing: write. Judges assign law clerks to produce written orders and opinions and the like, so applicants would be well advised to show they have the skills to carry out such assignments.
